  • Key Update: Pearl Abyss officially integrated the "Aerial Stab" flying glitch into the game as a balanced traversal mechanic rather than patching it out.

  • Quick Answer: Pearl Abyss adopted the community-discovered "Aerial Stab" infinite flight glitch, adding dedicated animations and stamina costs to transform the exploit into an official skill.

Instead of patching a popular glitch exploited by players, the devs at Crimson Desert decided to officially implement it into the game.

When Crimson Desert first launched, it was met with mixed reviews. While people loved the open world, the controls were clunky, the story was lackluster, and it felt way too complicated. Instead of blindly defending themselves, Pearl Abyss has released patch after patch to make the game more enjoyable.

But they didn't just stop at improving the controls. Even the small things, like making a glitch part of the game, were considered. And the fans? They're loving it.

Crimson Desert Adds Flying Glitch to Game

Previously, the only way to fly in Crimson Desert was by completing the Abyss Without Balance and Woman in White main quests. This would unlock the Health section of Kliff's skill tree, which gives you the Flight ability.

However, Flight is more like gliding. Players will be able to glide mid-air, but once stamina is fully depleted, players won't be able to fly anymore and will fall straight down. This is risky if you're high up in the air - you might plummet to your death.

It didn't take long for fans to discover that if you spam the stab ability while airborne, you will continuously be able to fly without running out of stamina. Players were able to use this glitch to travel long distances, but were afraid that with consistent patch updates, this would silently be removed.

Except that didn't happen.

Instead of removing it entirely from the game, Pearl Abyss included a tweaked version of Aerial Stab in their Crimson Desert 1.01 patch.

As well as adding a specific animation for Aerial Stab, they made it so that players need to unlock Stab Level 3 to be able to do Aerial Stab. It previously only worked if you had a sword and a shield, but was patched to also work with two-handed weapons. To make it into an actual mechanic, stamina will now be affected by Aerial Stab.

Fans Praise Pearl Abyss for Listening to Players

With their consistent rounds of updates, players who were once disappointed in Crimson Desert are now singing its praises.
