It's no secret that Sandfall Interactive based Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 on some iconic JRPGS, including Final Fantasy. The developers have not shied away from constantly talking about how the iconic Japanese franchise influenced their work.
Now, both franchises were united in an incredible crossover that will have fans of both gushing with excitement. During an official Final Fantasy x Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 event held in Paris, Nicholas Maxson-Francombe, Clair Obscur art director, and the legendary Tetsuya Nomura, creative director on the FF7 Remake trilogy, crafted an incredible piece of art, mixing both styles and characters.
On the one hand, we can see Cloud and Aerith dressed as expeditioners in Maxson-Francombe's style. On the other hand, Gustave can be seen wearing a Soldier outfit, next to Maelle, who is donning Aerith's classic outfit, complete with a small red leather jacket.

It's an incredible piece of art that fans of both (or even those who simply enjoy neat collaborations) will love. What's even cooler is that this could potentially translate to some sort of special in-game collaboration in either Clair Obscur or the next Final Fantasy 7 Remake project.
Slight outfit spoilers, but there's already a Clive Rosfield, Final Fantasy 16's protagonist, outfit for Verso in Clair Obscur, with both voiced by Ben Starr. Sandfall Interactive has confirmed that Expedition 33 will receive free DLC as a thank you to fans who made their debut game a breakout success. It's not entirely out of the realm of possibility that more Final Fantasy-inspired outfits are added as part of it.
As for the Square Enix side of things, Rebirth boasted a few optional costumes characters could wear, and it would be incredible if they managed to sneak in some expeditioner outfits for the whole cast.
