One unique feature about GTA 6 is the wildlife. In a Game Informer report, Rockstar confirmed there will be over 170 animal species in Leonida.
This includes 60 birds, over 30 land mammals, different fish, reptiles, and more. These include man's best friend - dogs. Can you interact with dogs in the game? Better yet - can you own a furry sidekick yourself?

Can You Pet Dogs in GTA 6?
Yes, you can pet dogs in GTA 6.
During the GTA 6 Extended Look, Jason is seen walking down a hallway and passing a pit bull. As he gets closer to the dog, some prompts appear on the screen. Players are given the option to Pet, Scold, or Study the animal.
Jason selected the friendly prompt, crouching down to pet the dog. After he finishes petting the dog, a distinct chime sound plays, and a small angel icon appears on the middle-right side of the screen. The icon likely hints at how actions affect your character's morality and criminal profile.
What we have yet to discover is whether Jason and Lucia can own pets in GTA 6. The Extended Look and the trailers didn't indicate whether the characters could have pets. However, it won't be unlikely.
Rockstar has already confirmed that there will be domesticated cats in GTA 6, as well as Chihuahuas, Dobermans, German Shepherds, and Rottweilers. Additionally, you were able to get pets in GTA 5. So, while it has yet to be explicitly stated, there seems to be a good chance we can have a furry friend by our side.
