Battlefield 6 Season 2 Roadmap Preview

Just like Season 1, Season 2 of Battlefield 6 will once again be split into three phases. The second season kicks off with Extreme Measures, which includes a new map called Contaminated, a new limited-time mode named VL-7 Strike, and new weapons such as the VCR-2 Assault Rifle, M121 A2 Light Machine Gun, and GRT-CPS Marksman Rifle.

Phase One of Season 2 will also introduce two new gadgets, which are the 9K38 IGLA Active Locking Air-Defense Launcher and the HTI-MK2 Hardware Suppression System. Oh, and how can we forget about the return of a beloved heli? The Little Bird is back in two forms: The AH-6 Little Bird for NATO, and the MH-350 for Pax Armata.

Additionally, REDSEC will receive two separate limited-time events in the form of Gauntlet Altered State and BR - Synthesis.

The second phase of Season 2 will introduce Nightfall on March 17, which includes an underground map called Hagental Base and another time-limited event, fittingly named... Nightfall.

Accompanying Phase Two is the CZ3A1 Submachine Gun and the VZ.61 Sidearm. Those familiar with the Scorpion and Škorpion will no doubt recognize these additions. Rounding off the new hardware will be the Dirt Bike, which is set to become the fastest land vehicle in the game.

Alongside Nightfall's two new weapons, free additional attachments, including a light-and-laser underbarrel combo and a hybrid sight combining a standard red dot optic and a thermal scope, will become obtainable via challenges.

As for REDSEC, Phase Two will add Gauntlet Nightfall as a limited-time mode and Defense Testing Complex 3 - Fort Lyndon as a new POI.

Last but not least, Season 2 will conclude with the third phase, Hunter / Prey, on April 14. This includes the Operation Augur limited-time event, Portal updates, and a new Bonus Path. The third and final phase of Season 2 will also receive the LTV vehicle and KAPOK 14" Machete.

In addition to the three phases of Season 2, a reset and refreshed Battle Pass will be active throughout its cycle, offering cosmetic items, XP Boosts, and Battlefield Coins. New Challenges will also become available, allowing players to earn additional rewards relating to Season 2 and special community events.

To welcome new players, no matter when they join in on the action, Season 2 will introduce the first Catch-Up Challenge Set. At each season’s launch, players can unlock the free, functional content introduced in the previous Season’s Battle Pass through this new Challenge Set.

Meanwhile, from February 17 to March 3, players can celebrate the Year of the Horse with special in-game challenges, themed rewards, and limited-time bundles.

Having been delayed to allow extra time for further development and refinement, expectations are high heading into Season 2. Only time will tell whether or not the new season is a success, but judging by this roadmap, the inclusion of only two new maps will ring alarm bells for many.
