We’re nearly there, folks. Battlefield 6 will soon be within reach as it prepares for its highly anticipated launch on October 10.

With an action-packed Campaign, destructive Multiplayer, and intense Battle Royale awaiting players, there’s a lot to look forward to. That said, there’s also a lot to consider when deciding which edition of Battlefield 6 to go for.

Offering exclusive bonus content such as skins, XP boosts, Battle Pass access, and more, the Phantom Edition is proving to be the most popular choice among players so far. But what if you own the Standard Edition and wish to upgrade to Phantom once the game is out? Let’s take a look at what’s possible.

Can You Upgrade to the Battlefield 6 Phantom Edition Post-Launch?

Yes, players should be able to upgrade to the Phantom Edition of Battlefield 6 by purchasing it as an add-on once the game has been released.

Based on previous Battlefield entries, an upgrade or add-ons pack for the Phantom Edition will likely become available soon after launch. The upgrade/add-ons option can usually be found on the homepage of the game, located in the store of your console or PC. Alternatively, Battlefield 6 may offer Standard Edition owners the chance to upgrade from within the game itself.

Of course, those of you who have already pre-ordered the Standard Edition can always cancel it and opt for the Phantom Edition instead. But if you are happy to wait until BF6 arrives, then you can just fork out an extra $30 by upgrading there and then.

It’s important to note that the option to upgrade to the Phantom Edition or purchase it as a separate add-on has not yet been confirmed by Battlefield Studios, so if you don’t want to risk missing out on all the extra benefits, then simply ordering it now or post-launch is your best bet.

Saying that, we’d be quite surprised if there isn’t some sort of upgrade path to the Phantom Edition upon release, especially considering most FPS games provide that option, including previous Battlefield titles. There may even be the possibility of purchasing Phantom Edition content individually via the in-game store, but again, this option has not been confirmed at the time of writing.
