ARC Raiders is home to a plethora of items scattered across Topside. In between running away from terrifying Arc machines or betraying other Raiders in PvP, players have a set of items needed to upgrade their workshop.

What Is the Rusted Gear in ARC Raiders?
The Rusted Gear is a key item required to upgrade your Gunsmith workshop to Level 3. You’ll need three Rusted Gears, along with five Advanced Mechanical Components and four Sentinel Firing Cores, to complete the upgrade. Make sure your Gunsmith is already at Level 2 before attempting this.
If you have ever found a Rusted Gear before, don’t recycle it.
Rusted Gear can be found in Industrial Areas, but the drop rate is extremely low. Even a Bettina Blueprint is more common than the Rusted Gear, according to the community.
Where To Find the Rusted Gear in ARC Raiders?
The community has discovered an area where you’re almost guaranteed to get one. Simply travel to the Buried City and head to the Warehouse, which is the zone on the western part of the map.
Once you are there, look for two breachable generators nearby. The Rusted Gear can appear in either generator. If it’s not in the first one, the second should contain it.
Keep in mind that once the entire community knows about this spawn, you’re more likely to encounter other Raiders doing the same thing.
Make sure to come in prepared. Take the Free Loadout with you for low-risk extractions, but you’ll be missing out on a safe pocket. Just get the Rusted Gear as fast as you can and head straight to an extraction point.
What Causes This Spawn?
It seems this is Embark Studios’ oversight, placing a static spawn for one of the game’s most elusive items. Most items in ARC Raiders are randomly spawned, except for Weapon Crates, which can be found inside high loot-filled areas like the Blue Gate’s Tunnel.
The Rusted Gear spawn will probably get patched in a future update. Which is all the more reason for you to get in there right now and take advantage of the situation.
Once you’ve safely extracted, repeat the process until you’ve collected all three Rusted Gears needed for your Gunsmith Level 3 upgrade.
