An analyst report just unveiled details about CD Projekt Red’s future plans for their Witcher IP, claiming that the meaty The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt DLC is slated for a 2026 release window, whereas The Witcher 4 is looking at a 2027 release.
According to Noble Securities analyst Mateusz Chrzanowski, the long-rumored DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt could arrive as early as May 2026 and will be a paid DLC similar to Blood & Wine and Hearts of Stone. It would be one of the rarest post-launch expansions in modern gaming, as it comes out 11 years after the original release. The report estimates that this mysterious expansion roughly costs about $30, which is pretty similar to CD Projekt Red’s other post-launch content.

The report didn’t mention any specifics about what the third DLC entails, but the community believes it to be a continuation of Geralt and Ciri’s story. It could also be a teaser for the upcoming The Witcher 4, where Ciri finally takes center stage as the main protagonist. At the moment, the entire Witcher community is still in a “tinfoil hat” moment, fueled by speculations and tracking breadcrumbs of information.
Following the third The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt DLC, Mateusz Chrzanowski also expects the highly anticipated The Witcher 4 to launch sometime in the fourth quarter of 2027. The analyst also highlighted the projected cost, estimating PLN 1.4 billion for development and an additional PLN 1.4 billion for marketing.
Part of the reason for The Witcher 4’s Q4 2027 release window was Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto VI, currently expected to release in late 2026. The analyst believes that CD Projekt Red is waiting for the possible shift GTA 6 will make in the gaming industry, setting new benchmarks for pricing and sales performance. They believe releasing Witcher 4 a year after GTA 6 would benefit both games.

Another CD Projekt Red project, The Witcher 1 Remake, is expected to launch sometime in 2028.
The analyst report isn’t just limited to Witcher insights. Noble Securities also provided projections for the Cyberpunk sequel titled “Orion.” According to them, they expect the Cyberpunk game to launch in the fourth quarter of 2030, which also coincides with Cyberpunk 2077’s 10th Anniversary.
It’s worth noting that these are not confirmed reports. Noble Securities is merely painting a picture of a studio’s plans. Nothing is set in stone for The Witcher’s future, as CD Projekt Red has yet to comment on this report. But with Grand Theft Auto VI making big waves next year, there’s a reason why CD Projekt Red decided to wait until things settle down and make their move.
