A New Uncharted Game Is Reportedly in Development, Will Release After Intergalactic

It seems Naughty Dog has mapped out their plans for future games.

The Uncharted franchise hasn't been in the spotlight for a while, with the last major entry being Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, released in 2017 for the PS4.

Ever since then, Naughty Dog shifted efforts to other projects, such as The Last of Us Part II, the cancelled The Last of Us multiplayer title, multiple TLOU re-releases, and Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, which is currently in the works.

However, it appears Intergalactic is not the only project in development at the studio. According to a new report from MP1ST, Naughty Dog is also working on a new Uncharted game, with full production expected to go ahead once Intergalactic comes out.

The report reveals that the game will be a new mainline title and will feature Nathan Drake in some capacity. It is unknown whether he will be the protagonist, a side character, or will only have a cameo. In a way, Uncharted 4 serves as a conclusion to his story, meaning another game with Drake as the protagonist is not a given.

Shaun Escayag is at the helm of this project, who was the Creative Director for Marvel's Avengers at Crystal Dynamics and also directed the standalone expansion for Uncharted 4, The Lost Legacy.

Since the studio is currently focused on Intergalactic, we don't expect any announcements regarding this title anytime soon. The report even warned us to be wary of plans changing, as Naughty Dog could change their minds and opt to make The Last of Us Part III their next title.
