Unlocking new Reactions in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is easy. Simply, don't neglect your villagers! Whenever you see one of your villagers with a speech bubble above their head beckoning you to go and talk to them, accompanied by them performing a Reaction themselves, it usually means they're going to teach you one. By speaking with them immediately after seeing them do this, they'll teach you a new Reaction to add to your roster.

However, this won't always result in them teaching you a new Reaction. They may instead simply have something to give you or request that you carry out a task for them. Either way, there will usually be something in it for you too. So, always speak with your villagers when that speech bubble appears!

Some additional Reactions can be unlocked from the Nook Stop Terminal in the Resident Services building using Nook Miles, so be sure to go and check you have this Hip Reaction Collection purchased. Another set of Reactions can be purchased from Nooks Cranny, but only during February 1st to February 15th; this is called the Viva Festivale Reaction Set.

The final assortment of Reactions that there are to be unlocked can be unlocked during the Halloween Night event by giving pieces of Candy to villagers or to Jack. This unlocks the Haunt and Scare Reactions specifically, perfect for trick or treating!
