Blizzard Announce Burning Crusade Classic Arena Tournament


Blizzard has announced details surrounding the upcoming Burning Crusade Arena tournament which will begin on the 17th of July with open qualifiers, followed by a top 8 Broadcast on the 23rd.

The Burning Crusade was the first time the arena game mode was introduced to World of Warcraft, and with the recent re-release of the 2007 expansion, Blizzard is celebrating its release with a special arena tournament.

"Burning Crusade holds a special place in the history of competitive WoW, and we hope to showcase that history and our deep love for Arena and the community that has built up around it for the past 14 years. We can’t wait for you to join us at an event full of familiar faces, special guests, and some of the best Arena PvP skills that CAT has to offer."

Registration is now open and will be until the 9th of May. Sign up on GameBattles for NA and EU.

Qualifiers: July 17 - 18

  • Format: Best of 3 Double-Elimination
  • 3v3

Top 8 Broadcast: July 23 - 25

  • Format: Best of 5 Double-Elimination
  • 3v3

Prize pool: $30,000 USD ($15,000 per region)

  • 1st: $5,000
  • 2nd: $3,500
  • 3rd: $2,000
  • 4th: $1,500
  • 5th/6th: $1,000
  • 7th,8th: $500

The top 10% of players will earn the "Vanquisher" title that they will be able to show off in-game.

The event features many fan-favorite casters, Supatease, Venruki, Ziqo, and some special guests that have not been announced.
