So, without further ado, here's how to connect up your Quest 2 to a laptop
How To Connect Oculus Quest 2 To A Laptop (Wired)
Here's our easy-to-follow, step-by-step guide on how to connect your Quest 2 to a laptop via a wired connection.
Firstly, you'll need to get the Oculus app for your laptop, which can be installed from the Oculus website. Whilst it downloads, turn your headset on.
Once the app has been downloaded, head into it and go to 'Devices' within the sidebar.
Go into Add Headset and add your Quest 2. If you're connecting via a wired method, make sure the Oculus Link cable is plugged in securely to both the headset and your PC.
Put on your headset and you should be greeted by a prompt asking you to enable Oculus Link. Press on Enable to confirm.
In short, that's how to connect the Quest 2 to a laptop via wires, although the process is a little bit different for wireless operation.
How To Connect Oculus Quest 2 To A Laptop (Wireless)
The process for connecting your Quest 2 to a laptop via wireless means relies on you having a gaming laptop running on a 5GHz connection, and also, if possible, having your device plugged into the router via an Ethernet cable, and of course, enabling Oculus Air Link.
If you don't have Oculus Air Link enabled already, go into the Oculus App (once it's been downloaded) and go into the Settings tab, and then into Beta. At the bottom, there's a switch for Air Link, and clicking it will enable the feature.
Turn on your Quest, and then enter into the Settings menu, into the Experimental Features section and turn on Air Link.
Air Link should now appear in your Quest's Quick Action menu within the settings, and you should be able to access it rather conveniently indeed.
So, there you have it, that's how to connect your Quest 2 to a laptop, and it certainly looks like a relatively easy process, whether you do it via wires or not.
