Netflix has confirmed that Sophia Brown is joining The Witcher: Blood Origin, joining Michelle Yeoh and Laurence O’Fuarain. Set 1200 years before The Witcher, this six-part live-action series promises to tell "the story of the events that lead to the pivotal “Conjunction of the Spheres, when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one”
Set to portray Éile, Netflix offered this character description:
Sophia Brown joins as Éile, an elite warrior-turned-nomadic musician who is forced to return to the way of the blade after a grand reckoning on the Continent sends her on a quest for vengeance and redemption.
Netflix's The Witcher: Blood Origin Casts Sophia Brown as Éile
Previously, we'd received news back in January about this original character, when Jodie Turner-Smith was initially cast in the role. However, she exited production back in April due to a scheduling conflict.
Blood Origin comes as part of an expanded effort by Netflix, following The Witcher season 1's success. Alongside Season 2, fans can also expect an animated spinoff movie, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, which tells the origin story of Geralt's mentor Vesemir.
