Sonic Collection Could Be On The Way, Packaging Together Classic Games For The First Time

It looks like SEGA might be planning to release a Sonic Collection later this year, which fans are speculating would bundle together some classic games from the franchise.

A retailer listing for Sogamely (spotted on Reddit) lists the collection but doesn't offer any other information. However, claims made by leaker Zippo said that SEGA was planning a collection with Retro Engine remakes of Sonic 1, Sonic 2 and other classic games "that have never seen a re-release before."

SEGA announced last year that multiple Sonic games are on the way in 2021 and this collection could be one of them. The pandemic could have delayed them, but we still think some of them are probably still releasing this year.

On top of that, SEGA is most likely working on the next full 3D Sonic and a leak from a voiceover recording studio suggested that Sonic Colors will be heading to more platforms in remastered form.

Meanwhile, Paramount is also filming the second Sonic The Hedgehog movie, which will release on April 8, 2022 in theaters and cinemas. You can stay up to date with everything we know about the movie here.
