Devolver Digital and developers Flying Wild Hog have confirmed that Shadow Warrior 3's been delayed. Previously confirmed to launch this year, that's now targeting an "early 2022" release date. Confirming they need more time's needed to Lo Wang's adventures in this latest Shadow Warrior entry, a new trailer dropped alongside it.

Suitably called the "Official Delay Trailer", Flying Wild Hog stated they want to deliver a "120% awesome" experience to players, rather than the "99% awesome" they have right now. That's according to Devolver Digital's official Twitter. This announcement doesn't mention the developer's exact progress, just that it's ongoing.

Shadow Warrior 3 Has Been Delayed, Now Launching in 2022

As seen in its first trailer, Shadow Warrior 3 follows the story of Lo Wang, who shoots down various demons as he pushes through the game. Players will have Lo Wang's skill acrobatic agility, martial arts training, and various firearms at their disposal. Previously, the first trailer confirmed a 2021 release date before this delay.

Elsewhere, Flying Wild Hog has several ongoing projects up to 2022. Evil West is scheduled for this year, and 2022 promises Trek To Yomi and Space Punks. With three games in development alongside Shadow Warrior 3, we'd speculate this delay could be due to the team being spread thin.

For now, fans must wait for more announcements from Devolver Digital and Flying Wild Hog about Shadow Warrior 3, and we'll keep you informed when that happens.
