March 28, 2024: When is the next Rust console wipe? Find everything you need to know in our guide.

There's a question all Rust Console Edition players will ask: 'When is the next Rust wipe?' The way the game is reset somewhat is unorthodox and potentially confusing to newcomers, but it does keep the game feeling fresh. To help you out, we've got all the details you need on the Rust console wipe schedule in 2023.

Wipes often take place in order to maintain server performance and reset the progress of players in order to stop the objective of survival from growing stale.

When is the next Rust console wipe?

The next Rust console wipe is due on April 25, 2024.

Rust wipes explained - What is a Rust wipe?

Rust follows a fairly rigid formula of performing forced server wipes, but if you're entirely new to the game, or even the survival games genre, it might be a relatively new gameplay mechanic.

The TLDR is that the developers will completely wipe servers once a month to keep players on an even keel. The wipe will delete everything a player has created for that month, including their loot, weapons, and buildings.

The reasoning is to ensure that new players dropping into the action have a chance, which would be almost impossible without wipes since certain players or groups would become far too powerful and dominate servers for extended periods of time.

What is a Rust BP wipe?

As mentioned, forced server wipes will delete more or less everything, but they won't delete blueprints.

In the developer's own words "we will avoid wiping them [Blueprints] as much as possible but in some cases it might be needed to maintain the stability of the game. If this is the case we will let you know beforehand."

This is why you might occasionally find players asking when the next "BP" wipe takes place. Normally players are informed only a few days ahead of time, typically on the game's social channels (see below)

The most recent Rust BP wipe took place in December and we'll endeavour to keep players up to date for any future BP wipes as and when they are announced.

What time do Rust wipes take place?

The good news is that players know exactly when to expect a Rust server wipe. This is the same for all Rust servers on every platform.

Unlike the PC version, the Rust Console wipe will take place once a month, on the last Thursday of every month. In addition, Rust wipes have the same start time, at 11 am PST / 2 pm EST / 7 pm BST. This is applicable regardless of server region and/or time zones.

The decision to have a strict date and time for server wipes has been done on purpose, with the developers telling fans:

"We understand the urge for players to be among the first to join the freshly wiped servers so we want to have a predictable and easy-to-follow pattern for all of you."
