Ubsioft Ditches Physical Game Discs For UK Xbox Collector's Edition Of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion And Far Cry 6

Ubisoft, in a bizarre twist, has decided to not pursue a physical disc option for a selection of their upcoming games in the UK.

What's more interesting is that it only affects one console.

Ubisoft Stop Physical Discs For Collector's Editions

Ubisoft detailed on their website that the Collector's Edition for three of their AAA titles will not receive a physical disc.

These titles include:

• Assassin's Creed Valhalla
• Far Cry 6
• Watch Dogs: Legion

Instead, players will receive a digital key to redeem instead. This is only the case for Xbox versions of the game.

PlayStation remains untouched and will keep their physical game discs.

It also seems to only apply to those in the UK, with the North American market unaffected. Ubisoft hasn't said why they've done this but it's a strangely specific audience.

So UK Xbox owners looking to get the Collector's Edition, you won't be able to trade or re-sell your copy if you redeem the game code.

Far Cry 6's Collector's Edition will also cost players £179.99 and includes:

• The Jungle Expedition Pack
• The Croc Hunter Pack
• The Vice Pack
• A high-end 72cm-length replica of “Tostador”, the flamethrower weapon from the game.
• A “How to Assemble” one-pager artwork, illustrated by the artist Tobatron.
• A Collector's Case based on Tobatron's art style
• Exclusive Steelbook with an emblematic design
• A 64-page A4 format artbook featuring exclusive artworks
• A set of 10 stickers
• A Chorizo keyring
• A selected soundtrack
• World Map

Watch Dogs Legion costs slightly less at £149.99 and includes:
