When asked about any potential involvement from Lucid Games, the leaker said he "is of the belief" that the developer is contributing to the Wipeout project.

The two developers worked together on the recent Destruction AllStars, a PlayStation 5 exclusive.

It's been a while since we've been able to fly around in our Feisar ship, though – Wipeout has been on ice since 2017 when the Omega Collection ported Wipeout HD, Wipeout HD Fury, and Wipeout 2048 to the PS4.

It's perhaps no surprise that the rumoured next title is targeting PlayStation VR's successor, either – the Omega Collection remains an incredible game when played in VR.

As with any leaks, it's best to keep expectations in check – but a new Wipeout title would certainly be a big release for the PlayStation faithful. The franchise has seen titles released on every PlayStation platform so far.
