Pokemon GO appears to be celebrating the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival this June.
A recent datamine has found references to this event in what is already an even filled period.
Pokemon Go Dragon Boat Festival Event
This would be a brand new event for Pokemon GO, celebrating the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival that takes place on the 25th-27th June.
It is a traditional holiday that commemorates the life and death of the famous Chinese scholar Qu Yuan, who was a loyal minister of the King of Chu in the third century BCE.
During the event, we are expecting increased spawn for Dragon-type Pokemon as well as special encounters and field research.

The event has no confirmed date or time, due to the fact that it hasn't been officially revealed.
We expect it to take place on the 25th June, due to the fact that the Bug Out event is on the 24th and Solstice event is on the 26th.
As a result, we're anticipating this event is a one-day-only event. Times are hard to predict, but it could be similar to other events - spanning from 10am to 8pm local time.
