Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Mystery Gifts Revealed

A new trailer has revealed more details about Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The video, uploaded on the Pokémon YouTube channel, is more for players new to the remakes than who played the originals as it describes the evil Team Galactic and covers the basics, but it gives everyone a closer look at the new style.

As a pleasant surprise at the end, however, the Pokémon Company revealed some new Mystery Gifts that will be available for players who buy the game early. If you purchase Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl before February 22, 2022, you are eligible for Mystery Gifts that contain 12 Quick Balls, Pokémon Platinum-inspired outfits for your characters, and a Manaphy egg.

The chibi art style isn't for everyone, but hopefully these gifts will alleviate some of the pressure on the developer. After all, who doesn't want a free mythical Pokémon? Even if Manaphy isn't your favourite mythic (is it anyone's?), you take these.

To get the gifts, you simply have to buy Pokémon Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl in the first three months after its release - which handily includes Christmas for those of you writing to Santa Claus. Then, head to the Mystery Gift menu when connected to the Internet and collect your outfit and Pokémon egg.

It appears that there will be a code you need to enter in order to receive the 12 Quick Balls, which hasn't been announced yet. However, you will have the same time period to enter the code in order to receive the gift.

If it's your first time tackling the fourth generation of Pokémon, then you're in for a treat. If you're jumping in for round two, then it's best to enter with an open mind and remember that nostalgia can be blinding. After all, if these games aren't for you, we've got Pokémon Legends: Arceus launching early next year, too, which may be more your flavour.
