How to get Unown in Pokemon Go

It is possible to find and capture a Unown out in the wild, but encountering one is extremely rare. The most effective way of catching a Unown in Pokemon Go is by participating in events that feature it.

If you’re set on adding Unown to your lineup, you’re better off keeping your eyes peeled for an event that features the Psychic-type Pokemon rather than trying your luck out in the wild. During these events, Unown is usually a featured encounter in all habitat types.

These events also normally have specific Unown letter forms featured, so you may need to wait a little longer if you’re looking for a specific one.

Can Unown be shiny in Pokemon Go?

Yes, it’s possible for most Unown to be shiny in Pokemon Go. But since the normal version of this Pokemon is hard enough to find, you are once again better off waiting for an event that has Unown as a featured encounter.

Unown has 28 different forms, one for each letter in the alphabet and two punctuation marks. Of these 28 forms, the K, Q, W, Z, and question mark Unown do not have shiny versions in Pokemon Go.
