The Bug/Electric-Type Pokemon known as Joltik was introduced to the series during Generation V. It found its way to Pokemon Go back in January 2020 along with Trade Evolution.

How to get Joltik in Pokemon Go

Trainers can catch Joltik in Pokemon Go after encountering it out in the wild. It isn’t as common as other Pokemon in the game but it’s still fairly easy to find.

Joltik used to available through 1-star Raids and Eggs but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. The Bug-type Pokemon can also be featured during events like Sizeable Surprises, making it a more common encounter from April 4, 2024, to April 9, 2024.

Joltik can evolve into a Galvantula by feeding it 50 Joltik Candies. So be sure to take advantage of events that feature this Pokemon so you can stock up on its Candy.

Can Joltik be shiny in Pokemon Go?

Yes, Joltik’s shiny version is available in Pokemon Go. It was added during the Pokemon Go Fest in 2023, three years after the Pokemon found its way to the mobile game.

Joltik is normally mostly yellow with its eyes and the tips of its feet sharing the same shade of blue. In its shiny form, Joltik’s body will look more like a bright neon green with purple eyes and feet.
