Just days after A Plague Tale Requiem was announced during the Xbox/Bethesda E3 2021 showcase, Focus Home announced the original game, A Plague Tale Innocence, is getting a next-gen upgrade July 6.

Plague Tale Innocence is also releasing on PlayStation 5 the same day and on Nintendo Switch via cloud streaming on July 6.

July 6 is when the month's new PS Plus games release, so we wouldn't be surprised to see Plague Tale Innocence on PS Plus either.

The Plague Tale next-gen upgrade includes

  • 3D Audio support
  • 4K support on PS5 and XSX
  • 60fps on PS5 and XSX
  • Other visual enhancements

A Plague Tale: Innocence Next-Gen Upgrade Scurries Onto Consoles Soon

A Plague Tale Innocence is a survival game that follows siblings Amicia and Hugo as they try to survive the Black Death in 1300s Europe, with a twist.

The twist is that Europe is bursting at the seams with rats. Rodents flood the streets, the Inquisition has Amicia and Hugo marked, and no one can be trusted.

It originally released in 2019, though Focus Home gave no indication until now that a next-gen update was even a possibility.
