Spider-Man 2 Venom voice actor Tony Todd suggests that 90% of the voice lines that he recorded for the game have been left on Insomniac’s cutting room floor.

This news comes out of a Fan Expo San Francisco panel which Spidey super fan and founder of website Spidey Squad Evan Filarca revealed on X. Filarca also stated that some of the lines that were cut were part of a scrapped sequence where Miles Morales actually had the symbiote in the game.

With Venom being quite a prominent figure in Spider-Man 2, this is somewhat surprising and something that fans would love to get their hands on, even in raw, unedited form.

While 90% is obviously a huge chunk of those juicy Venom quips that we love, what it could mean is that some of this extra dialogue may be saved for a potential DLC or even be stockpiled and spun into a script for a standalone Venom title.

Back in October, Insomniac senior narrative director Jon Paquette spoke to Insider about the potential of a Venom game later down the line. He stated that they’ll all need “time to sleep and take vacations” before any conversations are to be held about it. He also suggested that they would “listen to the fans” and decipher what they “really want” when thinking about this project.

With Wolverine still in the works at Insomniac, a Venom game would be far into the future but it’s something (if done right) could be monumental, and one that web-slinging fans would welcome with open arms.

At this same event, Nadji Jeter, voice actor for Miles, stated that his character being the main Spider-Man post Spider-Man 2 is “gonna be crazy” and he is “ready” to take on whatever the developers cook up for the franchise in the future.

Regardless of what’s in store for the wall crawling teenager and hero of Brooklyn, if Insomniac is staying at the helm, it’ll be an open-world experience to remember.
