Sonic X Shadow has been confirmed, and it’s not smut

A brand new Sonic the Hedgehog game in the style of Sonic Generations is coming. Dubbed Sonic x Shadow Generations, the game combines the Blue Blur’s 2D and 3D gameplay into one awesome title.

Revealed during the most recent PlayStation State of Play Showcase alongside games such as Stellar Blade, the new Sonic game looks like a massive improvement over the underwhelming Sonic Superstars.

At its core, Sonic x Shadow Generations is a remaster of the 2011 Sonic Generations. With remastered visuals and an enhanced frame rate, the new remaster makes the already phenomenal looking single player story game look stunning on new systems.

However, fans will also be able to experience an entirely new campaign focused on Shadow the Hedgehog. The edgier, cooler hog, you’ll be able to blitz through an entirely new series of missions that weren’t available in the original game.

“Play as Shadow the Hedgehog in a brand-new story campaign featuring never-before-seen powers and abilities that prove why he’s known as the Ultimate Life Form!” reads the new remaster’s synopsis.

There’s no news on whether or not this section will take up as much time as the core Sonic Generations experience. However, judging from the trailer, fans can expect at least a few new action packed stages to play through.

SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS is coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, STEAM, and PC via the Epic Games Store In Autumn 2024.
