Teyon’s RoboCop Rogue City was a surprise success in 2023, beautifully translating the plodding action of the iconic 80s action star into a stunning first-person shooter.

In our review of the game, we said the game was “the biggest surprise of the year, and one of the best shooters I've played in a long time. Fans of the franchise will delight in the story and world-building, all of which are completely loyal to the 1987 original.”

Following a rough past of Rambo: The Video Game and Terminator Resistance, Teyon’s work on RoboCop was a fantastic surprise for fans. However, the studio has its eyes set on multiple franchises it would like to have a stab at in the near future.

In an interview with Exputer, RoboCop Rogue City game director Piotr Łatocha explained that the studio already has plans for what movie IP they would like to tackle next.

“It’s easier to talk about the future when you’re recognized as a company that can deliver something cool,” Łatocha explained. “There are some IPs that we would like to work on in the future, but I won’t give them away just yet.”

The game director also made sure to thank fans for their support of the new RoboCop game.

“The game had an amazing launch in terms of sales,” the director explained. “So, what can I say? We are overjoyed that the hard work has paid off.”

RoboCop Rogue City has been almost universally praised for its recreation of the 80s action series better than any of the movie’s sequels. With a history of mediocre to awful games, Teyon broke not only its own curse, but the RoboCop franchise’s as well.

We can already see Teyon acing adaptations of other 80s franchises such as Aliens and Predator. But what about something more unique? Escape from New York maybe? Another underrated Mad Max game? The possibilities are pretty damn endless.

RoboCop Rogue City is available right now on Xbox, PlayStation and PC. The game can also be streamed on platforms such as Nvidia GeForce Now.
