Harry Potter RPG Hogwarts Legacy is a best seller once again following the launch of the game’s Nintendo Switch port. After almost a year of waiting, Switch fans are finally diving into the popular magical adventure.

Originally launching on PS5 and Xbox Series X early this year, Hogwarts Legacy immediately became a top seller. The game climbed up sales charts once again following its last-gen Xbox One and PS4 launch. Now, the game’s surprisingly good-looking Nintendo Switch port is climbing charts once again.

Via GamesIndustry, the just-released Nintendo Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy is the top-selling physical video game in the United Kingdom. The Switch port of the Harry Potter prequel has dethroned the year’s biggest game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, from the top seller spot.

Despite being the third platform launch for Hogwarts Legacy, the game is currently sitting above sales of the brilliant Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, EA Sports FC 24, and even Super Mario Wonder. While the game isn’t necessarily new, the port is selling better than many fans expected it would.

Of course, digital game sales are not included in the top sellers chart’s ranking. With this in mind, Hogwarts Legacy likely isn’t selling better than the multiplatform Modern Warfare 3, even if Activision’s latest CoD game is a major disappointment for most fans.

Hogwarts Legacy’s Nintendo Switch port is also proving very popular on the platform’s eShop storefront, already proving a digital bestseller on the platform alongside Nintendo exclusives such as Super Mario RPG Remake.

Via Digital Foundry, the Nintendo Switch version of the Harry Potter game features some massive cutbacks, even compared to the game’s Xbox One and PS4 versions. Everything from textures to lighting to shaders are massively downgraded, but it’s still impressive to see the game running on a Nintendo Switch at all.

As one of the last AAA games coming to the platform before the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, Hogwarts Legacy’s final port is certainly an impressive title to behold.
