The new campaign AI available to use in Halo Infinite’s Forge mode has resulted in more than just firefight skirmishes. In fact, Halo fans are recreating some of the series’ classic missions in Halo Infinite Forge for all to play.

Added as part of the brilliant Halo Infinite Season 5 update, campaign AI can now be used to make missions, arenas and even Pokémon Battle simulators. While Halo Forgers have always pushed the limits of 343’s map-making tool, now they can make anything they dream of.

Shared on the Halo subreddit, one of the series’ most iconic levels has been recreated in Halo Infinite using Forge. Halo: Combat Evolved’s The Silent Cartographer, known better as “The Beach Level” can now be played in its entirety on the new game.

Available to grab here alongside its game mode here, The Silent Cartographer in Halo Infinite is a sign of the game’s Forge offering opportunities never before seen in a Halo game before. Offering the full iconic mission with Halo Infinite’s movement and weapons, it’s a fun recreation of one of the series’ most unforgettable moments.

There are a few oddities to experience. For example, Infinite’s aggressive Hunters are far more of a hassle to deal with than the wonky tanks of Combat Evolved. There’s also the complete lack of music or voice lines that really sold the original.

Nevertheless, playing The Silent Cartographer in Halo Infinite is still a pretty damn magical experience for fans of the original game. Hopefully, with this mission now playable in some form inside Infinite, we can one day play even more missions inside the free-to-play game.

Maybe we could experience the thrilling sniper-equipped Truth and Reconciliation from Combat Evolved, or High Charity from Halo 2. Oh god, imagine the Halo 3 Warthog Run in Infinite’s Forge mode? Now that would be sick.

Halo Infinite is available to play right now as a free-to-play multiplayer title on Xbox and PC. The game’s single-player campaign is available to purchase separately or play via Xbox Game Pass.
