Fortnite continues to expand with LEGO Islands, new brick-based experiences that will give players unique challenges different from the current game. LEGO Islands will be a series of family-friendly game challenges with various objectives to complete.

Available now for all to try, LEGO Islands will launch with two different game modes players that offer plenty of variety: LEGO Raft Survival and LEGO Obby Fun. Both of these modes were developed with the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), showing what can be done with this unique editor.

Raft Survival will have LEGO Fortnite players attempting to stay afloat in a raft while Blackbeard tries to blow them to smithereens. Continuing the survival aspects from the base game, players will need to keep their raft healthy by collecting resources like wood and other resources they might run into.

Obby Fun has players going through various LEGO-themed obstacle courses where your jumping and climbing skills will be tested. Actual LEGO designers worked on these obstacles, so fans can expect plenty of quality from these courses in the game. These courses will be based on well-known LEGO IPs like LEGO Ninjago and LEGO City, which should mean plenty of variety.

More of these game modes will be added to LEGO Fortnite as part of the LEGO Islands brand, with Epic Games promising this is just the beginning. These Islands will continue to explore more gameplay styles, all of which will remain family-friendly so anyone can play them. It will be interesting to see how the various crossover skins are used in these new gameplay modes, that’s for sure.

Seeing free expansions like these shows how serious Epic Games is when it comes to supporting their new gameplay styles. It’s not all LEGO after all, as the game is also home to Rocket Racing and Fortnite Festival, showing the diversity in experiences this live service has.
