Breakdown

  • Capcom has apologised for the performance issues of Dragon's Dogma 2
  • The company has also clarified what the microtransactions do in the game
  • Major fixes to the RPG will be coming soon

Dragon’s Dogma 2 launched to critical acclaim but the game isn’t perfect, as many have taken issue with the game’s performance on PC. Capcom has now apologized for the game’s current state, while also clarifying that the microtransactions are items that can be earned while playing.

On a Steam update, the company acknowledged issues with the game’s framerate, bringing up how the CPU has to handle each NPC character. The company has said that they will find a way to improve this massive RPG’s performance, likely in a future update. Until that happens, it seems that players will settle with killing the NPCs to improve the framerate for now.

In regards to the Dragon’s Dogma 2 microtransactions, Capcom simply said that all of the items listed as paid DLC can be obtained in-game. Why the company bothered to make these items into paid DLC should be criticized, but the point stands that players can progress through the RPG just fine.

Other issues with the game were also addressed, with Capcom saying that they will find a way to deal with the crashes and various bugs. Launching the game at this state is a shame, but it’s good to know that the devs are going to find a way to fix these issues. We can see why Capcom decided to limit the game’s framerate to 30 FPS consoles, given how going over that has led to these issues.

Even with all of these issues, most fans will agree that Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a thrilling RPG with great combat and a world that feels alive. Getting it to run on PC might be a trial in itself, but the heart of a hardcore RPG is there, with satisfying combat and thrilling challenges. We know that this game can only get better once more updates for this RPG come out and fix these issues.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. Curious fans can also check out Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
