Call of Duty fans are growing tired of the shooter franchise's most recent collaboration with Amazon Prime's The Boys.

With attention turning towards the launch of Season 2, members of The Seven have featured in Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer and Warzone as playable Operators complete with their own range of cosmetics and weapon blueprints.

The second partnership between The Boys and Call of Duty saw the arrival of A Train and Firecracker alongside a variety of Supe-themed game modes offering an alternative to the usual selection. Now, players believe The Boys have outstayed their welcome and are ready for a new crossover involving Rick Grimes to take its place.

The Boys has featured in Modern Warfare 3 for the last four weeks, leaving Reddit user sdriz000 to reflect: "Who else is a little tired of The Boys operators?"

The player adds: "I know there's like an event and whatnot. I've just never watched the show so wondering when we'll get some other cool operators." They're not the only ones getting tired of the latest collaboration. Another adds: "I think they've ran The Boys into the ground now. Walking Dead next and who knows what after that. The event was lame and the event camos were lame."

With Grimes and Michonne appearing as operators in Season 2, the next major crossover taking place in Call of Duty is rumoured to involve the Warhammer 40K franchise. Leaks have uncovered various references to the tabletop game within the game files, leading many to believe this is the next big event on its way.

The Walking Dead arrives in Call of Duty on February 7, 2024. In addition to the main protagonists, a handful of multiplayer maps will receive a makeover to reflect the appearance of being overrun by a zombie apocalypse. The undead will also appear in Warzone thanks to the introduction of a new contract alongside power-ups guaranteed to swing the momentum of a match.
