Monster Hunter: World gets Final Fantasy VII Remake's Buster Sword (Post Iceborne patch)

Modders face significant issues during updates since there's no way to guarantee their mods will work when a developer makes an update to the game. It happened in Monster Hunter: World when the Iceborne update removed a popular weapon mod. Specifically, it was Cloud Strife's Buster Sword from the Final Fantasy VII remake.

NexusMods user UberGrainy, who created the original mod, made a new Monster Hunter: World mod for the update. The Buster Sword from Final Fantasy VII Remake can now be downloaded to Monster Hunter: World and used again. The download page can be found here.

UberGrainy's model is based on DemonZariche's and DoubleBrewski's Oblivion/Skyrim Buster Sword. UberGrainy then remapped and retextured the Buster Sword to fit the Final Fantasy VII Remake's style. UberGrainy took the handle texture from Phate3's Dragonslayer.

The community seems to have a lot of questions about this mod. Questions primarily concern how to make the mod work correctly, so anyone interested in using it should look through the posts to become acquainted with common problems. Besides that, there's nothing too big that would cause a significant problem.

Many people put in a lot of work to make this mod possible, and the credits are well displayed on the download page.

The Final Fantasy VII Remake's Buster Sword looks great in Monster Hunter: World

UberGrainy made sure to capture the sword from the Final Fantasy VII remake and not from Advent Children, the Final Fantasy VII movie. As a result, the blade takes on a much more realistic appearance. Monster Hunter: World fans who have played Final Fantasy VII will appreciate the attention to detail.

In addition to looking old, the sword has numerous scratches. It is almost indistinguishable from Cloud's real sword in terms of outline and design. The quality of the mod makes it well worth downloading.
