The first season of post-launch content for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone is underway.

While both titles have received a wealth of brand-new content, fans of the 2019 reboot of Modern Warfare have began to express their frustration regarding the lack of brand-new content.

Alongside the lack of new content, Modern Warfare has become an advertising platform for Black Ops Cold War, encouraging players to purchase the new game.

Although publisher Activision has integrated Black Ops Cold War, Warzone, and Modern Warfare across all platforms, players still playing Modern Warfare are getting increasingly annoyed.

The launch of Season One marked a new era for the Call of Duty franchise, with three titles all receiving level progression and weapon XP progression across all platforms.

Is New Content Coming?

While players can level up the Season One Battle Pass by playing Modern Warfare multiplayer, the vast majority of the 100 Tiers that can be unlocked cannot be used in the game, much to the annoyance of players still after some brand-new content.

The chance of a seventh season of post-launch content going live is growing thin, but data miners have discovered two new Operators in the form of Soap and Sparks within the files of the game. This is certainly a good sign for those wanting some sort of new content to get their teeth stuck into.

The 2019 reboot of Modern Warfare is the most successful instalment of the first-person shooter franchise according to Activision, so it seems very strange for the developer and publisher to abandon it when it has such a large player base.

We will have to wait and see if any new content for Modern Warfare does release in the coming months.
