The Ascent: Release Date, Platforms, Trailer And Everything We Know

The Ascent, Neon Giant's debut title, will be released later this year for Xbox One, PC, and Xbox Series X.

Announced during Inside Xbox, this action RPG is set in a cyberpunk world run by megacorporations. Here's everything we know so far, complete with gameplay. 

What is The Ascent?

An isometric action RPG that draws from the likes of Diablo and can be played solo or with up to three friends locally or online, The Ascent centres around a planet owned and operated by The Ascent Group.

When the company one day goes dark, sending security systems haywire and causing rioting, your character will need to fight to survive. Players can loot gear from enemies and upgrade their character with cyber enhancements.

Neon Giant themselves are a new studio but have plenty of experience. Their team has worked on the likes of Gears of War, Bulletstorm, and more.

Release Date

The Ascent had been slated for 2020, but it'll now finally launch on July 29, 2021.

Confirmed Platforms

The Ascent is an Xbox and PC exclusive, meaning it'll only be available on Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X.

The game will also support Smart Delivery, so you won't need to buy it twice.

The Ascent will debut on Xbox Game Pass on day one.

As far as we know, the game will not appear on PS4 or PS5.
