The sequel to the critically acclaimed Death Stranding is in the works, much to the delight of Hideo Kojima's legions of fans. The original release was hard enough to comprehend which is why gamers have so many questions surrounding its sequel.
Some believed an announcement was due during a State of Play but all signs are pointing towards more information appearing during The Game Awards 2023.

Following Death Stranding 2's initial reveal at the 2022 Game Awards and the showcase of the first announcement trailer, Kojima Productions has revealed Death Stranding 2 will release in 2025. An exact date hasn't been shared yet.

Ahead of the 2023 Game Awards, Kojima and Geoff Keighley teased some kind of announcement taking place.
Perhaps we'll finally get a release date or even more gameplay.

So far, Death Stranding 2 has been confirmed for the PlayStation 5. The first Death Stranding eventually appeared on PC through the Game Pass so the likelihood of PlayStation exclusivity is high.
Unfortunately, this is bad news for Xbox users who were hoping Kojima's next blockbuster would be heading to Microsoft's gaming platform.

Although the information on Death Stranding 2 is few and far between, Kojima has already announced the first wave of actors appearing in the sequel:

- Elle Fanning
- Lea Seydoux
It's not surprising to see Norman Reedus, Troy Baker, and Lea Seydoux are on their way back following their involvement in the first Death Stranding game. We'll have to wait and see what roles are in store for Elle Fanning and Shioli Kutsuna.

The first message from the Death Stranding 2 trailer asks a simple question: "Should we have connected?" The trailer also showcases APAC, a new private corporation.
