Call of Duty 2023 is the talk of the town following a fresh wave of leaks surrounding the next instalment of the franchise. Known for its annual release, Call of Duty is a staple of gaming and until recently, it looked like it would miss 2023 in favour of a more polished product in 2024.

With more leaks and rumours continuing to emerge, there's plenty of information to dissect. So, if you're confused about what's next for Call of Duty, you're in the right place.

Will Call of Duty launch in 2023?

Yes! Call of Duty will launch in 2023 in the form of Modern Warfare 3. The game will act as sequel to Modern Warfare 2 and will feature a new campaign, multiplayer, and co-op offering.

Bloomberg's Jason Schreier expects the premium content offering to be for Modern Warfare 2 which coincides with another claim stating classic maps could feature as DLC.

Another theory could involve the release of a standalone Zombies title which is particularly exciting for those disappointed with what Vanguard Zombies offered.

Once more Modern Warfare 3 intel appears, we'll update the hub with the latest information.

Modern Warfare 2 2023 DLC

Rather than Modern Warfare 2 receiving an extensive DLC programme in 2023 and 2024, Sledgehammer Games is now spearheading the development of Modern Warfare 3.

This is similar to the original trilogy where Sledgehammer developed multiplayer while Infinity Ward worked on the campaign. With no sign of DLC, there's a high chance any leftover content from Modern Warfare 2 appears in Modern Warfare 3.

Call of Duty 2023 Zombies

If recent leaks are accurate, the undead are returning in Modern Warfare 3. Rather than the popular round-based formula, it's claimed an improved version of the Outbreak mode from Black Ops Cold War. There's also talk of it being a free-to-play title but as with all leaks, it's best to take them with a pinch of salt until more concrete information appears.

That's all we know about Call of Duty 2023 so far. As more details continue to emerge in the coming months, we will update the hub with any new leaks that appear.
