We've Got Our First Look At The Horizon Zero Dawn Graphic Novel Series, Liberation

With Horizon Forbidden West due to arrive later this year, Sony has been slowly getting into the full promotional swing. In collaboration with Titan Comics, a new graphic novel series first arrived back in August last year, and we've now got a look at the next step in Aloy's adventures.

Titled Liberation, this new series will be published in separate issues. Penned by Horizon Zero Dawn narrative director Ben McCaw and writer Anne Toole, Issue #1 arrives on July 14, and it takes place during the events of the first game.

Outlining what to expect, Titan Comics released this synopsis: "Taking place during the events of the original game, this new arc explores the never-before-told adventures of Aloy and her fan-favorite sidekick Erend as they hunt for a killer with links to his past."

"As their journey progresses, and the pair fend off a series of deadly machines, Erend reveals the sweeping tale of the liberation of Meridian, and how his sister, Ersa, Captain of the Carja Vanguard, was murdered."

In preparation for this, Titan Comics will be offering alternative covers for Issue 1, which you can find below, and you can pre-order Issue 1 directly from them. A paperback copy compiling all the issues is arriving later this year, with Amazon listing that for a November 16 release date.
