Wondering where to find a Tunic in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom? At the start of the game, Link is running around in the rain, catching a cold. And that's no good. Thankfully, you don't need to go too far to fix that. Each piece of gear bestows different statistics useful when taking on powerful enemies.

This first tunic barely does, but it's better than nothing. Despite the Tunic's somewhat basic qualities and lack of protection, it comes in handy during the early stages of the game as you work your way through the lengthy tutorial.

Where to find the Archaic Tunic in Tears of the Kingdom

To obtain the Archaic Tunic in Tears of the Kingdom, you'll need to do a bit of exploring. For the vast majority of the tutorial area, you're without a shirt. Here's where to find some extra protection.

Hidden inside a chest within the Pondside Cave is where you'll find the Archaic Tunic. To reach the cave, make your way to the western shrine and head northeast where you'll come across the cave entrance. Step inside to find the chest containing the Tunic.

The process is rather straightforward, but it's easy to miss. We've highlighted two entrances to the cave containing the duds. Although the Tunic is far from the strongest piece of armour, it'll provide some defence against any opposition you encounter during the early stages of the game.

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Archaic outfit

The Archaic Tunic is part of the Archaic Outfit which also includes some Archaic Legwear. Paring the Tunic with the Legwear is a surefire way of some solid protection in the early game, but it's one of the first pieces of the set you'll replace.

Can you upgrade the Archaic Tunic?

At the moment, it's unclear if you can apply upgrades to the Archaic Tunic in Tears of the Kingdom. There's always a possibility of applying a range of materials to the Tunic in order to raise its defence level but it's too early to tell.
