The first season of content for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 is right around the corner. Alongside a new battle pass and Call of Duty's latest battle royale release, there's a huge amount of content making its way to both titles.
Just like in past seasonal updates, players can obtain two new weapons and many are already wondering how to unlock the BAS-P in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. The BAS-P slots into the submachine gun (SMG) category and is bound to prove popular with those that prefer to run and gun the opposition.

How to unlock BAS-P
The BAS-P appears in a revamped battle pass. Instead of working through the tiers, Infinity Ward has scrapped the linear levelling progression in favour of a new system that gives players plenty of choices.
Season One's and all future battle passes will feature 20 sectors containing five items. By earning unlock tokens, players can choose which item they want to unlock. So, if you're wanting to get your hands on the BAS-P as soon as the season begins, you can!

BAS-P SMG overview
In a recent blog post, Infinity Ward says the BAS-P features an "aggressive fire rate and modular frame" making the gun "perfect for the discerning operator who wants to customise their submachine gun."
The developer also reveals the SMG fires subsonic ammunition which means the skull indicators that appear after scoring a kill are invisible to the opposition.
BAS-P weapon platform
Modern Warfare 2 introduced weapon platforms that group together certain weapons to create a family. Weapons part of a family shares specific attachments that only need a single unlock.
The BAS-P slots into the Bruen Ops platform that also includes the Chimera assault rifle which makes its way to multiplayer and the battle royale as part of the Season One Reloaded update.
Is the BAS-P worth unlocking?
Unlocking the BAS-P is certainly worth it, especially if the SMG arrives in both games and dominates the close-range meta. There's a high chance it won't take much grinding to unlock so it makes sense to spend any unlock tokens on the SMG as soon as possible.
