The Finals reserve loadout

In The Finals, the reserve loadout is an alternative, secondary loadout that you can swap to during a match.

When you're customising your loadout between games, you'll see an active loadout and a reserve loadout. When you join a game, you'll be given your default, active loadout to play with. You cannot swap to your reserve loadout until you die.

To swap your loadouts when you die, you can press the button prompted on the bottom left of the screen, labelled "Change Loadout". On PC, this is the "J" key by default, whilst its 'Square' on PlayStation and 'X' on Xbox.

Often, you'll want your reserve loadout to bring some variety to your arsenal. Try to pair a short-range weapon in your active loadout with a long-ranged gun in your reserve, and similar other combinations that synergise well. Take some time to experiment with some different loadouts to see what performs best, as every player will have their own personal preference.
