Ready to hit the waves with friends? While you can set sail on the seas by yourself, Skull and Bones openly admit that pirating is more fun with friends. If you're hoping to team up with pals across different platforms, you might wonder if Skull and Bones is crossplay and if so, how to enable it.

If you're still wondering whether to fork out for Skull and Bones, we've got you covered on Ubisoft's pirate game. For more details on its standard release date, we've also got our dedicated release hub. For now, let's check out everything you need to know about crossplay.

Is Skull and Bones crossplay?

You'll likely be happy to hear that Skull and Bones is crossplay, supporting cross-platform play across all its various platforms from PC and PS5 to Xbox Series S/X and beyond. Indeed, when you load up the game, a screen appears indicating that when crossplay is turned on, you may encounter players on other platforms. So whether you're playing with friends or not, you'll likely still see other players on the waves if you've got crossplay switched on.

Of course, you cannot play Skull and Bones offline, as it's an online-only game that requires a serve connection. If teaming up with friends to sail together in a group, you'll also likely be pleased to hear there's no friendly fire, so you can't accidentally sink each other's ships if anyone accidentally gets in the way (or not). Most of Skull and Bones is PVE, with optional PVP events, so you don't need to sweat about PVP when sailing around the world. There are also more than enough AI-controlled forces for you and your party members to contend with from ships to sea beasts.

How to enable crossplay in Skull and Bones

If you want to change the crossplay settings, simply head to the Accessibility menu in the game's settings via the main menu or the pause menu while playing. Here, you can enable or disable crossplay to your liking, depending on what kind of experience you prefer. Crossplay is enabled by default, enabling you to play Skull and Bones with players on other platforms. Alternatively, you can disable this feature if you wish.
