Ready or Not game modes - members of the SWAT team prepare to enter a door

Ready to dive in into this new tactical shooter or... not? Developed by VOID Interactive, we will be part of an elite squad, much like SWAT, and sent to deal with various intense missions and situations. But what kind of gameplay should we expect? Let's take a look at the different Ready or Not game modes.

Released in mid-December 2023, the game has been fairly well received overall, with many wondering if it's a good follow-up to the old original SWAT series and also about its system requirements.

But most of all, we are also interested on the gameplay. Keep reading to find out all the different modes in Ready or Not.

What are the game modes in Ready or Not?

The missions in Ready or Not feature five different game modes, with varying degrees of difficulty and rules of engagement with the enemy, as well. Basically, depending on the context and situation, each mission in the game may fall into one or more of the five game modes.

Let's take a look at all of them:

  • Barricaded Suspects: in this mode we will have to deal with hostages that have to be saved and suspects to dispose of.
  • Raid: basically the same mode as above, but without hostages so you don't have to worry too much about innocent casualties.
  • Active Shooter: one or more suspects are going after civilian targets and have to be dealt with fast and smoothly.
  • Bomb Threat: locate one or more bombs in a map before the time limit expires.
  • Hostage Rescue: similarly to the first mode, in this one suspects are going to execute the hostages if they detect police presence, so you'll have to play much more stealthily than usual.

All of the in-game missions are available to play in single player mode, where AI will take control of your team mates, or also in co-op in multiplayer. A future PvP mode is also in development, with a future release.

That's all you need to know about the Ready or Not game modes. For more info on other shooters, why not check out the best Medium build in the Finals?
