Since Pokemon Go's launch in 2016, this smartphone game by Niantic, Inc. has revolutionized its system. As per the original games, each Pokemon comes with its types, strengths, and weaknesses, which govern who they match best against. For this, keeping a Pokemon Go counter chart will improve your capture rate and winning chance in no time.

If you want to be a Pokemon Master, you must know which Pokemon type is strong and weak against other types. Familiarising yourself with these bits of information, as well as knowing each Pokemon's vulnerabilities, resistance, and weaknesses, can help you ace PVE and PVP duels in no time!

Additionally, knowing which Pokemon-type compositions to keep on your team will help you build more effective groups for gym battles and Raid boss fights. For this reason, we have compiled a counter chart for Pokemon Go players, with all the information for what each type is strong against, weak against, resistant to, and more. Let's check it out.

Immunity Effects removed in Pokemon Go

Unlike the original Pokemon games, Pokemon Go does not have type immunities. These include:

  • Normal is not immune to Ghost
  • Fairy is not immune to Dragon
  • Ground is not immune to Electric
  • Ghost is not immune to Fighting and Normal
  • Dark is not immune to Psychic
  • Flying is not immune to Ground
  • Steel is not immune to poison

in other words, the defending Pokemon in Pokemon Go takes a fraction of the total damage dealt, resisting the total attack numbers.

What is the Pokemon Go effectiveness multiplier?

The effectiveness multiplier showcases how much extra damage your Pokemon will deal against types where there's potential for a super-effective attack. Without further ado, here's the full list of multipliers:

  • Super effective against two types: 2.56x
  • Super effective: 1.6x
  • Not very effective: 0.625x
  • Not very effective against two types: 0.391x

Mastering the multiplier is essential information if you're always on the lookout for dealing as much damage as possible. Keep this in mind when going against Pokemon that aren't best suited to your current selection as it can easily determine whether you win or lose a battle.

All in all, the abovementioned Pokemon Go counter chart will come in handy whenever you want to make a powerful team composition to beat down Raid bosses and formidable opponents in-game. So try out your favourite combos and watch your catch rates and fights become more exciting.
