Yes, you have a chance of running into Chinchou's shiny variant once it starts appearing during the Community Event. The community event is a great opportunity to expand your collection of rare Pokemon. Shiny Chinchou has light green bulbs and eyes instead of the standard bright yellow.

Chinchou is the base form of its species. Like many other Pokemon in Pokemon Go, it has its own evolution. Chinchou evolves into Lanturn once you give it 50 Rare Candy.

How to catch Chinchou in Pokemon Go

You can find Chinchou and catch it by exploring the wild and running into one. There is no set method to catch a Chinchou, but you can use lure items such as Rainy or Glacial Lure Modules to increase your odds of spawning a Chinchou. Furthermore, Chinchous are much more likely to spawn during rainy weather.

Chinchou has a Max CP of 1,265 and is vulnerable to Ground and Grass-type attacks. It is resistant to Flying, Fire, Water, Ice, and Steel-type moves.

The community event that took place during Sunday, 3 March , 2024, from 2 PM to 5 PM local time increased Chinchou's spawn rate. Hopefully, we'll see another soon.
