The era of remakes will continue with the highly-anticipated Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of the critically acclaimed Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, released in 2004.

Without the vision of game director Hideo Kojima, developer Konami has a lot of responsibility on their shoulders to deliver a product worthy of sporting the MGS brand, let alone being a remake of one of the best and most revered games in the series.

Snake is back!

MSG Delta: Snake Eater does not have a release date set in stone. The game was announced just this past May, with an in-engine trailer presented on 25 October.

We'll update this article if more information is revealed in the coming months, but as it stand, don't expect the title to hit during the first half of 2024, as it's more likely being set for a Holiday 2024 or even 2025 release date.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater - Platforms

Meta Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be released only for current-gen consoles, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC.

One of the main reasons is that the game is being developed on Unreal Engine 5, making it the first MGS title since Kojima Productions' dissolution to not use the publisher's proprietary Fox Engine technology.

As mentioned, just this past October we saw the first in-engine look at the title. While it isn't technically proper gameplay, it provides a decent look at how the game will look like running in UE5.
