Does Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth have a day and night cycle?

The short answer is no; the long answer is, potentially. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth does not have a dedicated day and night cycle that you can experience every day. Your character will not go to bed at night, nor will the sky get darker and give you a glimpse of the nightlife during an average day.

The only changes in the weather will be related to the weather. You can experience turbulent and changing weather, such as downpours and strong winds. This dynamic weather is the only active change you will see for the most part, as the usual weather will comprise the sunny skies of Hawaii.

However, you will be able to see different times of the day during different parts of the story. For example, some story scenes will let you play during the sunset or sunrise, and others will let you explore the city during the night. While it's unfortunate that we don't have a fully dedicated day and night system, at least you can experience it during different story quests.

Lastly, we do have proof that an active day and night cycle technically functions in the game. This is because, during the Dondoko Island minigame (the one inspired by Animal Crossing), you can see a timer in the bottom left of the screen on the top right side of your mini-map that lets you see the day and night cycle tick by.
