How to change stance in Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name
Kiryu will have access to two different fighting stances – Agent Style and Yakuza Style. You can switch between these two styles by pressing the down button on your D-pad.
You will only be able to fight with Agent Style at the start of the game, but you won’t have to wait long until you can use the second stance. Yakuza Style is unlocked halfway through the first chapter.
What is Agent Style?
Daidoji agents developed Agent Style as a secret fighting style to help them carry out their intelligence operations. The style is a seamless blend of martial arts techniques from different countries across different time periods and incorporates the use of equipment known as “gadgets”.
It is believed that a master of Agent Style will have full control of any situation, regardless of who stands in their way. Kiryu, who now goes by the name Joryu, was forced to learn this fighting style by the Daidoji, giving him the means to handle any situation he is faced with.
What is Yakuza Style?
Yakuza Style is a savage fighting stance that is characterized by impactful haymakers, deadly kicks, and the use of nearby objects as makeshift weapons. It was designed to overwhelm opponents and Kazuma Kiryu became a legend known as the “Dragon of Dojima” in the criminal underworld by using this style in countless battles.
Though Kiryu is forced to learn Agent Style after joining the Daidoji, he continues to use Yakuza Style to improve his techniques.
