How to complete the Diablo 4 Onyx Watchtower Stronghold
The Onyx Watchtower Location
The Diablo 4 Onyx Watchtower Stronghold is found in the Dry Steppes region, which you'll visit during Act 3 of the campaign. Though most fast travel points are further away, all you need to do is head to the centre of the zone.
Do note that, much like the other Strongholds in the game, there's a minimum recommended level. Past this point, however, enemies will still be roughly one to two levels higher than your character.
Purge the Bandits, Raze the Encampment, and Slay the Lieutenants
These objectives can all be done simultaneously. Basically, the dungeon's layout is akin to a large camp, with numerous structures and hostiles in various sections. Here's what you need to do:
- Purge the Bandits - Simply kill a bunch of enemy mobs.
- Slay the Lieutenants - There are three lieutenants scattered about in the area. These are elites with a unique marker on the minimap.
- Raze the Encampment - Structures such as tents, carts, and pillories must be destroyed. These will have a small diamond icon on the minimap.
Stronghold Boss: Captain Ezmin
After completing the above objectives, it's time to battle the boss in this area, Captain Ezmin. For the most part, this miniboss uses fire-based attacks, akin to mortars that are lobbed. You'll want to avoid the red circles on the ground, as those are where the explosives will land.
Additionally, these have a secondary effect: blindness. If you're standing within these circles, your character's vision will be impaired, preventing you from attacking. As such, you'll want to use your dodge or defensive abilities to get out of the way.
The Onyx Watchtower Unlocks
After completing the Onyx Watchtower in Diablo 4, you'll unlock the following:
- Onyx Hold Dungeon: Storm Swell Aspect for the Sorcerer - This gives 11% increased damage to vulnerable enemies while you have a Barrier.
- Onyx Watchtower fast travel point
- Blacksmith
- Weapons Vendor
- Armor Vendor
- Healer
