What is Helltide in Diablo 4?

Helltide in Diablo 4 is a special event that occurs randomly in the open world in the World Tier: Nightmare. It’s an endgame mechanic that affects the entire region, and fills it with hordes of powerful demons.

During the Helltide event, all monsters spawn in larger numbers, have higher levels, and are buffed. So, it will be much harder to defeat them, but they will give you better loot. Also, they’ll drop you some Cinder, a new currency that you can use to get artefacts.

What is Cinder in Diablo 4?

Cinder is a special currency that you can only receive by killing enemies during Helltide. Just wait for this event to occur, and slaughter any creature that comes near your character. You will have to accumulate Cinder and use it to open special Helltide chests that contain valuable loot.

What are Helltide chests in Diablo 4?

Helltide chests are loot boxes that spawn during Helltide. You can open them by spending your Cinder to get a powerful artefact. It seems that each chest gives you an item of a certain category. For example, it could be a helmet or a sword. So, you will be able to control the type of loot you receive and make the farming process less random. But most importantly, you'll get new top-tier loot!

Overall, the new mechanic looks great and is a nice addition to the Diablo 4 endgame. It’s challenging, rewarding, and definitely worth a try! Also, we've got a Diablo 4 PvP guide, make sure to check it out.
