If you are a fan of survival games, you probably know how important it is to have something to deal with enemies. In Dead Island 2, when you find a new weapon, sooner or later you will need to take care of it. So that you do not face any difficulties in dealing with the undead, here's how to upgrade and repair weapons in Dead Island 2.

Of course, you can just use new weapons that you find all the time, but sooner or later you will find one that is fully ingrained in you. Your favourite boomstick, battle axe, or slightly sharp stick. That’s when you need to upgrade it to make it even better.

How to upgrade and repair them

In Dead Island 2, you can repair, upgrade, and modify your weapons. Let's go through each of the points separately to better explain how to do all this.

Weapon repair

Use your melee weapon for a long time and you'll notice that a durability line that informs you of how much longer a weapon can last starts to degrade. To repair your weapon, you'll need to find a workbench. If you've encountered one before, head back there for this example.

The first workbench in the game that you can see will be in Emmy's house. You can find it after completing the Defend Emma Jaunt's House mission. When you approach the workbench and open the interaction window, you'll be able to see your weapons and the durability lines below each of them.

To repair them, you need to pay a certain amount of money. After selecting the desired item to repair, press the following buttons on the following devices:

  • PlayStation - X button
  • Xbox - A button
  • PC - Enter

Weapon modification

In addition to repairing, you can perform weapon modification, which allows you to add elements such as shock mod, toxic mod, torch mod, and many others to compatible arms. This way you can make, for example, a fire sword that, in addition to dealing basic damage, also deals additional modified damage.

To add a modification, open the workbench window and select the desired weapon. To open the next menu where you can add selected upgrades, press the following buttons on the next devices:

  • PlayStation - Triangle button
  • Xbox - Y button
  • PC - F2

Now select the desired modifiers from the available ones and apply them.

Weapon upgrade

Upgrading a weapon means increasing its combat level. You can upgrade your weapon to the level you are at. Each such improvement will be expensive, so don't upgrade everything you have, but choose a specific weapon that you like the most. After opening the workbench menu, press the following buttons to improve your weapon:

  • PlayStation - Square button
  • Xbox - X button
  • PC - F1

That's all for today, now you know all the ins and outs of upgrading your weapons and can fight crowds of zombies without a struggle.
