Following the release of update 2.0, V's armour rating and armour modifiers will no longer be tied to their clothing. We're here to make sure you know exactly how to get armour in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0, ensuring you don't get crushed in a fight.
The previous armour system encouraged players to prioritise stats over style, leading to some incredibly heinous crimes against fashion. The changes to this system in update 2.0 ensure that your V can be tough without having to sacrifice their style.

How to get armour in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0
Armour in Cyberpunk 2077's update 2.0 relates to V's resistance to all incoming damage. Having high armour can reduce the damage V takes by 58% or more.
The primary way you can get armour in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 is by upgrading your cyberware at a ripperdoc. Only the Skeleton or Integumentary System slots are used to equip armour cyberware.
Each of the different types of cyberware within these slots will have its own armour rating, with most carrying a stat modifier as well. There exists unique cyberware at specific ripperdocs across Night City. Check out as many different ripperdocs as you can find in order to perfectly min-max your cyberware.
Below are two tables of the different armour cyberware that you can get in update 2.0. Each tier of the cyberware will have different armour numbers and modifier strengths. The effects of the armour cyberwares are listed below, so you can plan out your cyberware upgrades.

Optical Camo | Decrease visibility to enemies for a short period of time, making yourself harder to detect |
Additionally, look out for items of clothing that may provide a boost, either in armour or in other areas. Items that are gold or purple more frequently have these modifiers, however you can still find lesser modifiers on lower-tiered items of clothing as well.
Most importantly, you can preserve V's fashion by setting and selecting a cosmetic outfit to wear over the top of this armour.
